The computer based CAT exam fiasco makes for a great case study for MBA course. CAT exams for MBA courses had been paper based since the beginning & this time it’s decided to go for computer based. The virus attack & subsequent denial by the IIM’s exam authorities for not taking the responsibility will show how to decide on authority & responsibility. Prometric, assigned with conducting the exams, didnt comeout with a satisfactory answer immediately. Thousands of students were left helplessly without clues about the exams after the virus attack. The issue was even discussed in the parliament & an inquiry has been ordered into. There is a clear lack of communication, accountability & taking ownership of the exams.
