Google is acquiring reCAPTCHA, the top provider of puzzels you see when you sign up for mails & other registrations. Google will use the
Optical Character Recognition which reCAPTCHA uses in scanning of the books for Google Book projects. Recently Adobe announced that it is acquiring Omniture, leading web analytics firm. With this, the tech companies are back into the Wall Street buying spree. There has been several reports that economy is bouncing back & recession is coming to an end. Adobe’s buying has got mixed responses from the wall street. With this, Google might improve the CAPTCHA technology raising the bar for spamming & bots.

Adobe, the maker of Flash & Photoshop, has announced that it is acquiring Omniture, the analytics firm for $1.8 billion. Utah based Omniture is getting a good deal in this all cash based deal. Adobe has been on an acquisition spree & has purchased many companies like Macromedia. Omniture has a good base of clients & most of them use Flash in their websites. Omniture will make it easier for Adobe to measure the Flash analytics. Microsoft has been pushing hard with Silverlight & Omniture buy will give Adobe a much needed relief in tracking the analytics. But how the purchase is going to benefit the Adobe shareholders is a big question. Purchase of Omniture has taken the tech community on a surprise. How will Adobe justify the ROI on $1.8 billion. The CEO of Omniture will become SVP of Omniture after Omniture gets integrated to Adobe.
