Google wave, which generated a lot of buzz during its release, has not been able to materialize much buzz these days. It was an invite only site in the beginning & there was much demand for its invitation. Touted as the top such product which was able to combine all the elements of social activity. However, the interest in wave has waned as seen by the graph. Will this also go like other Google products like Knol?
Google Wave is a real time communication & collaboration tool. Entry is by invitation only now & is already making lots of waves. This was first developed in Google’s Sydney office & is a tool for email, real time communication, social networking & other real time activities. Google is planning for an app store as well for Wave & some apps are already being tested. Currently only 100,000 invitation has been sent out & the demand for it was so high that it was even traded on ebay. App stores is a hot commodity now & enabling an app store for wave is a great way for Google to keep up with Apple’s iphone app store. Wave can help in online gaming, networking, bookmarking & others. With this Google is aiming a shot at Facebook, AIM, Twitter & others.
